May 11th, 2023. “Promoting Social Emotional Development in the Early Years” with Dr. Angela Low

Our upcoming monthly meeting will be held on on Thursday, May 11 from 5:15pm to 6:45pm.  We are very excited to welcome Dr. Angela Low Provincial Lead for Early Years Health and Wellness at Child Health BC, who is overseeing the development and implementation of Feelings First, a provincial program to promote social and emotional development in the early years. She also works alongside other health promotion programs for young children. Angela will speak to upcoming opportunities to get involved in this project, talk about a few resources she can offer you that may be of interest to you. She will allow time for Q&A. Angela is also an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia. Her research interests include emotional processes behind learning (particularly the discrete emotions of shame and guilt) and social and emotional development in children and parents. April 13th, 2023. “Nurturing Connections Infant and Early Years Mental Health Program”

Our next regular WCAIMH meeting will be held on Thursday, April 13th starting at 5:15pm – 6:45pm. We are very happy to welcome Sean Boulet, occupational therapist and Team Lead for Nurturing Connections; Infant and Early Years Mental Health Program. Sean will provide us with the origin details of this pilot program and update us on how it’s going.
